Downtown and Southside

Walk to Heritage Square, Route 66, the train station and the ghost tours

  • Good for A first visit, a weekend without driving, the free Snowbowl shuttle downtown
  • Skip if You want a pool, or free and easy parking

The historic core around Heritage Square, between Elm Avenue and Butler Avenue. Three hotels are within six minutes' walk of the square, and the Hotel Monte Vista is right by it.

Downtown street parking is $2 an hour during paid hours, and overnight street parking is banned in winter, so a hotel with its own parking makes life easier.

  • Skip if You want to walk to downtown restaurants

The location suits road trips: I-17 to Phoenix and Sedona, I-40 east and west, and the airport and the Snow Park nearby.
